We are so thrilled to kick off our DEL Summer Intensive with DEL FUNdamentals, facilitated by DEL Founder Jody Gottfried Arnhold, and Ann Biddle, Director of The DEL Institute – Teacher Certificate Program.

DEL’s signature FUNdamentals course was created to broaden a teacher’s understanding of dance education and prepare them for success in their classrooms. Participants will be immersed in the DEL Model through movement exploration, collaborative dance-making, and community-building activities, and learn from two of the most talented and passionate dance educators in the field.

Last year, Jody & Ann shared more about the design of DEL FUNdamentals — a transition from our in-person course on DEL Essentials to an online training for the summer intensive.

Some of our favorite highlights:

  1. Jody and Ann agree that this course is really FUN. DEL FUNdamentals is about pure joy and the joy of movement. When they designed this course, they wanted to make sure that it delivered the essence of DEL pedagogy in a celebratory way. They have designed creative and fun ways to build community through dance in the zoom room!
  2. For first year teachers, DEL FUNdamentals gives them a place to start, a movement vocabulary and a framework for understanding in how to engage all learners.
  3. For seasoned educators and dancer-choreographers, DEL FUNdamentals is an energizing way to re-engage with infinite possibilities to center and value self-expression through dance.
