Join the Dance Education Laboratory (DEL) for a dynamic professional learning experience designed to equip dance educators with practical tools to inspire and guide student choreographers. This 3-hour workshop invites participants to witness student creativity and artistry in action and explore strategies to nurture choreographic voice in the dance classroom.

The workshop begins with an exciting opportunity to attend the 92NY School of Dance’s Student Choreography Showcase (12–1 PM), where participants will view original works created by young dancers. Drawing inspiration from the showcase, participants will then transition into an interactive, embodied session (1–3 PM) that breaks down the choreographic processes observed and offers actionable strategies for supporting student-centered dance-making.

Through reflection, movement, and discussion, educators will leave the workshop with fresh ideas, accessible frameworks, and renewed confidence in facilitating student choreography, empowering their students not just to dance but to become choreographers.

Who it’s for: Dance educators in all settings – schools, studios, and community programs – interested in cultivating creativity, leadership, and agency in their students through choreography.

Must register by Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
