Johnny Vorsteg is a professional dancer, actor and teaching artist based in NYC. Originally from Verona, NJ he grew up performing in operas and musicals with his identical twin brother. Johnny began his formal training at NYU where he studied musical theatre for two years before transferring to Montclair State University, graduating with degrees in Dance and English. He danced internationally with the Paul Taylor 2 Company for five years until the company’s closure in the pandemic. He has performed the original choreography of A Chorus Line and Sweet Charity, and was on live TV as Odette in La Cage Aux Folles with Phoenix Theatre. Johnny’s film credits include Memory (opposite Jessica Chastain) and In Fidelity (opposite Chris Parnell). Locally, he has taught at The Chapin School, Spence School, Montclair State University, and Adelphi University, among many other schools across the country. Johnny is a certified group fitness instructor with Equinox and currently teaches dance at 92Y Nursery School and Talent Unlimited High School. Johnny’s teaching practice is informed by his time in the studio each week: taking class, auditioning, and performing. He is represented by The Carson Kolker Organization, Ltd.
