Iris Wilson is an original cast member of the Broadway musical Fela! directed by Bill T. Jones. She received her dance training at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance and the Ailey school. She holds a masters in Dance Education from NYU. As a dance educator, Iris has served as a dance facilitator for NYCDOE dance professional development workshops. She has written dance curriculum for NYCDOE and has hosted numerous student teachers from both Hunter and NYU dance education programs. Iris teaches high school dance at the Summer Arts Institute. She has taught at P.S. 9 for the past 7 years, where her annual Nutcracker Ballet was featured on NY 1 for its re-imagined virtual performance during the covid 19 pandemic shut down in 2020. Iris currently teaches dance at MS 51 in Park Slope, Brooklyn. She is the author of the children’s book Boys Dance Too!
