DEL x Michelle Dorrance: Rhythm, History, and Innovation
Join us for a special DEL workshop led by acclaimed tap artist and choreographer Michelle Dorrance, with DEL Facilitator Erin Lally. This dynamic workshop launches 92NY Harkness Dance Center’s second annual Uptown Rhythm Dance Festival and features seven days full of extraordinary performances, discussions and classes that celebrate the power, artistry, and cultural impact of women in rhythmic dance.
In this two-hour professional learning experience, participants will:
- Experience a master class in rhythm, musicality, and movement through the lens of Dorrance’s tap dance practice.
- Engage in an embodied dance history experience led by Michelle Dorrance.
- Connect the artistry of rhythmic dance to the Dance Education Laboratory (DEL) Model, exploring creative and teaching applications for classroom and studio settings.
This workshop invites dance educators to move, reflect, and discover strategies for bringing the joy, rigor, and expressive power of rhythm into their own teaching practice.
