Join us for a special DEL Movement Sentence Choir with Amadi ‘Baye’ Washington and Sam ‘Asa’ Pratt of Baye & Asa, and DEL Facilitator, Taryn Vander Hoop w/ live accompaniment by Mal Stein.
The DEL Movement Sentence Choir combines two concepts, Laban’s famous movement choirs and the DEL Movement Sentence, to create a joyful dance experience that brings together dancers of every genre, age and ability. By the end of this afternoon’s workshop, you’ll have explored the DEL model and created a new choreography with the artists that will culminate in a live video-taped performance. Come experience a collaborative creative process!
Participants Will:
- Collaboratively create a dance inspired by a theme and Movement Sentence
- Engage in creative exploration and improvisation guided by the DEL Dance Framework
- Learn phrasework from renowned choreographers Baye & Asa
- Work collaboratively to create solo, duet, trio, and small-group dances with peers
- Rehearse and perform the dance!
