DEL is proud to announce several upcoming events that celebrate our community and support our vision of Dance For Every Child!

Also this summer, we are thrilled to share a screening of PS DANCE! THE NEXT GENERATION during Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. And DEL at Jacob’s Pillow is back in-person this summer! Join us for DELving Mini Workshops with Gauthier Dance on July 15 and Martha Graham Dance Company on August 19.
Coming up in September, Ann Biddle, Director of The DEL Institute – Teacher Certificate Program, will lead a panel discussion with past and present DEL Institute participants.
We hope you’ll join us for any and all of these events. We have a lot to say and a lot to celebrate!
June 28: Jody Gottfried Arnhold honored by American Dance Festival
At American Dance Festival (ADF), DEL Founder Jody Gottfried Arnhold will be awarded the 2023 Balasaraswati/Joy Anne Dewey Beinecke Endowed Chair for Distinguished Teaching.
Ann Biddle and Erin Lally will present the award on Wednesday, June 28, at 7:30pm EST, and directly following the ceremony, there will be a screening of the documentary PS DANCE! THE NEXT GENERATION for the ADF audience.
As part of this year’s educational programming, ADF in cooperation with DEL will offer workshops and a Movement Sentence Choir event for dance professionals and summer dance intensive students led by Jody Gottfried Arnhold, Ann Biddle, Erin Lally, and Yoshi Sanders.
July 16: PillowTalk Screening — PS DANCE! THE NEXT GENERATION
On July 16 at 4:00pm, Jacob’s Pillow will host a screening of PS DANCE! THE NEXT GENERATION in the Archives at Blake’s Barn as part of their PillowTalk series.
We hope parents and students from local communities will attend the screening to learn more about the power of dance education. The documentary features the DEL dance mentoring program created by Ann Biddle at local schools in western Massachusetts, so we hope some of our stars will be in town to join us!
PLUS: DEL at Jacob’s Pillow is back in-person!
On July 15 and August 19, join us for interactive, movement-based DELving Mini Workshops with Gauthier Dance and Martha Graham Dance Company.
Our July 15 workshop will focus on the work of Gauthier Dance//Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart, a dynamic company of 16 highly individual, versatile artists, directed by the dancer, choreographer, and musician Eric Gauthier. Artistic Director Eric Gauthier will visit the workshop to engage participants in an embodied experience linked to Gauthier Dance//Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart’s choreographic and artistic processes. On August 19, we’ll explore the work and legacy of modern dance icon and pioneer Martha Graham. Considered revolutionary at the time, Graham’s invention of a new modern dance technique has endured for almost 100 years. Learn more and register here!
