Delving into the cultural and historic roots of Salsa dance, DEL’s Salsa Stories II, a Salsa Dance online course, will make space for new, untold, or unfolding stories through Salsa dance.
Participants will explore Salsa Stories through many voices in our community, continuing to explore the diverse roots and branches of Salsa, including the impact of Salsa on the concert stage. Guest artists will explore different perspectives of the global salsa phenomena as we continue to weave our very own salsa stories. Participants will leave with a variety of salsa-inspired activities to bring into their teaching environments.
In this workshop, we will continue to unearth common misconceptions and stereotypes related to the dance form, examine how personal, communal, and societal struggles are presented and resisted through Salsa, and deepen understandings of how diverse communities connect to Salsa through the clave (the pulse), relationships, and storytelling.
Registration closes 9/23.
