Arts Achieve (an I-3 and AEMDD grant-funded program)
The Arts Achieve: Impacting Student Success was a unique collaboration between New York City’s leading arts institutions (Studio in a School, Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall, Arts Connection, Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, and 92Y Dance Education Laboratory), the New York City Department of Education and the research institution Metis Associates. As the recipient of the prestigious USDOE Investment in Innovation Fund (i3) – Development and Arts Education Model Development and Dissemination grants, this consortium of arts education providers developed balanced assessments to support high standards and high-quality instruction in visual art, music, theater, and dance.
Through Arts Achieve, DEL coach facilitators and teachers collaborated with the NYCDOE arts office and other cultural artspartners to create assessments to support high standards and high quality instruction in dance. DEL delivered support in the form of Facilitators who visit the schools, web and technology resources, and structured learning communities in the schools to support arts instruction.
